Open Door Day at T-Systems Slovakia

Anyone, who on Saturday, December 8th, 2018, by any chance passed by T-Systems Slovakia, could see a very unusual picture: a building of Cassovar flooded with an amazing amount of balloons among not only our employees, but also their beloved ones were eagerly winding. Above all, the most beautiful picture was to see those little hands tightly holding balloons and smiling. Children really enjoyed it!

How the biggest IT company in Košice looks like...

In the pre-Christmas period we opened for the second time in a row our doors to the families and friends of our employees. Due to security reasons, our company spaces are normally closed to the public, but we decided to make an exception. Relatives and friends had a chance to come and see, how it looks and works in the biggest ICT company in Košice.

IT is fun!

In an average, people working in our company are around 30. Though, it is not a surprise that we have lot of little kids in our magenta family. That is why we had conceptually approached Open Door Day in a way to attract kids. They could not only see where their parents seat, but also enjoy the day full of joy and fun. We put together a route consisting of selected spaces of our company. Our guests went along the route accompanied by guides, our colleagues, and the whole „magentasightseeing“ tour was spiced up with interactive activities. The aim was in a very easy and funny way introduce our company and business activities, acquaint people with T-Systems customers or present the methods of our job routines. Although kids know, that their parents work with computers, it is sometimes very difficult to describe the job at all. After watching a video about our company, people could see more of our working spaces and also employees right in the action. Our guests had a chance to compare their knowledge in a Kahoot game when answering 10 questions related to T-Systems Slovakia. They tried to find out what is the „right“ password or how to run an auto-robot. By the example of pancakes baking, we easily explained how we use a scrum method while working on different projects. In two last activities, people sorted pictures of our magenta events and built a wooden tower according to the strict requirements of a customer. Not only the offspring of our employees, but also their parents passed through this circuit. The oldest participant was 84 years old. For those who were not going around the building at the moment, we prepared another  program. Kids had a chance to spend time at creative workshops and Music Theatre entertained kids and their parents with four performances – our children though together with cartoon characters Doggy and Kitty baked a cake big „as a world“, met Máša and her funny Bear friend or a famous couple Maťko and Kubko.

Our guests with empty hands? No way!

To rise up motivation, we awarded an active participation in all the activities by the special magenta world currency – „madženťáky“, that kids at the end of the tour changed for different little presents. Visitors could also try their luck with a wheel of fortune, play with a corn-hole, mix an unique song with a mash-machine or take a family picture in a photo booth. Moreover, the „balloonists“ inflated 674 balloons flying around in all spaces of the event. Thank you for being there! Many thanks to all our colleagues who volunteered at the Open Door Day organization and operation during the whole day! It's better to see something once, than to hear about it a thousand times – watch a short video about Open Door Day at T-Systems Slovakia 2018 and see, how it looked like.
