As Europe accelerates toward AI-driven innovation, Deutsche Telekom’s Industrial AI Cloud provides the secure, high-performance foundation required for next-generation AI workloads. The initiative reinforces technological sovereignty, increases strategic GPU capacity, and creates a trusted environment for developing advanced AI models under European regulatory standards.
This huge AI Cloud project is delivered jointly by Deutsche Telekom & NVIDIA.
Public communication around the Industrial AI Cloud rightly emphasizes its scale and strategic ambition: 10 000 GPUs, cutting-edge AI performance, strengthened European digital sovereignty, and full compliance with GDPR and the EU AI Act. However, behind this achievement stands a truly EU collaboration and a delivery effort driven from Slovakia. The Slovak Engineering team, led by Silvin Galus, has been actively involved in the project since July 2025, starting from the earliest design phase. The team progressively built the entire cloud ecosystem from the ground up. This was not an off-the-shelf deployment, but a comprehensive end-to-end construction of an AI cloud platform executed under significant time and capacity pressure.
From Blueprint to Deployment: Delivering a Production-Ready AI Platform
The Delivery team took ownership of the entire execution lifecycle. Slovak colleagues designed the whole architecture and defined the infrastructure & platform blueprints, managed hardware selection and complex logistics. In addition to this, they managed an effective operational collaboration with international partners and suppliers from all over the world. Over the upcoming months they scaled team capacity, aligned deployments with NVIDIA and Datacenter provider, and carried out hands-on engineering implementation. On top of that, the team absorbed a new technological domain advanced AI and GPU infrastructure. Cloud experts from Kosice defined product & processes, prepared pilot environments to enable fast customer onboarding and led to the installation and configuration of the first NVIDIA DGX systems for the initial pilot customers in just a few months. With onboarding already underway, we’re turning this vision into reality and we’re looking for people who want to build Europe’s trusted AI ecosystem together with us.
What is NVIDIA DGX?
NVIDIA DGX is a family of purpose-built AI systems designed for training and deploying large-scale AI models. Each DGX system integrates high-performance NVIDIA GPUs, high-speed NVLink/NVSwitch interconnects, optimized networking and storage, and NVIDIA’s full AI software stack (including CUDA and NVIDIA AI Enterprise) into a unified, validated platform. DGX systems are engineered to deliver maximum performance for large language models, computer vision, and other compute-intensive AI workloads.
Turning 10 000 GPUs into a fully operational AI ecosystem
In close collaboration with Deutsche Telekom and NVIDIA, Slovak team led by Portfolio Manager Silvin Gálus delivers just in 6 months end-to-end cloud infrastructure & platform solution, from designing infrastructure automation on DGX and RTX systems, building AI/HPC environments, managing complex security requirements, implement automations, defining operational processes, and validating performance, stability, and security.
With the first DGX systems ready for pilot customer testing as of March 1, 2026, ahead of the official launch, the project clearly demonstrates that this is not a showcase investment, but a production-grade AI environment built through strong international collaboration and outstanding engineering excellence.
Engineering Talent Behind a European AI Milestone
The Industrial AI Cloud is designed to deliver value to our customers across Europe. Backed by architects, network specialists, engineers, and operations experts from Slovakia — working closely with colleagues in Germany — the platform combines hands-on execution with deep architectural expertise and scalable operational design.
This initiative establishes a sustainable sovereign AI capability within the Deutsche Telekom ecosystem — ensuring long-term reliability, innovation capacity, and trusted partnership for our customers’ future AI ambitions.
The effort has been led by Portfolio Manager Silvín Gálus, whose coordination and leadership were inevitable in bringing all streams together. The technical backbone was shaped by Lead Architects Fadi El Jamal and Miroslav Janoušek, with Network Architects Matej Kováč and Zdenko Timuľak involved. The project’s engineering strength was further reinforced by engineering experts Tomáš Mihók, Peter Alexovič, Oliver Eötvös, Viktor Tomko, Nikoleta Bertová and steering support by Katarína Gacíková & Roman Žuhovský.

This project is a true example of the One Team collaboration. We are proud and grateful that we could help build a next-generation AI environment, seeing the data center before its official opening. Finally, to support the creation of a sovereign AI infrastructure that strengthens the Deutsche Telekom brand across Europe on-site from Košice.
What’s Next?
In the next phase, the Slovak Delivery team will continue expanding GPU capacity, streamlining deployment models, and supporting more industrial customers as they adopt AI at scale. At the same time, they will further strengthen with more clod features, AI applications, operational expertise and contribute to new AI initiatives across Europe. As demand for sovereign, regulation-compliant AI infrastructure accelerates; proven operational experience becomes even more critical. With hands-on expertise from one of the region’s largest AI infrastructure projects, the Slovak team is ready not only to support Europe’s AI transformation but to shape it from the front row.
The question is, how far can Europe’s AI ambition go when backed by this level of capability?
